My apartment manager was knowledgeable and extremely helpful in getting rid of the bugs. An exterminator sprayed 2x, and when more bedbugs were found, used chemicals to bomb my apartment. During this time I washed all my clothes in hot water or took them to the cleaners. I threw out almost all of my books and papers. I had to buy a new bed TWICE and throw out a nice upholstered chair. I told close friends I had bedbugs and stayed away from everyone until I was sure I no longer had bedbugs. Forward to now: my close friend discovered she has bedbugs in her apartment. She threw out her bed and bagged many of her papers. She is a slob (always has been) and I would consider her to be almost a hoarder. She will not throw out most of her paper, still uses her upholstered desk chair, etc. After I went over to her apartment to visit her, I commented on the bites she has all over her. She doesn't seem very concerned about it. When I went back to my apartment, I discovered a fat bedbug on my sweater. I told my friend about the bedbug and she is having an exterminator come again in a few weeks. Meanwhile she keeps wanting to visit me. I let her come over once and was so nervous about it. As soon as she left, I checked all the seams of the couch cushions, etc. Would you think it's reasonable that I tell my friend that I do not want her to come over until her bedbug problem is remedied?
