rddI do and I have :p § prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 02:09:08rddunderstood... halfbreed2013-08-06 02:08:50I've done the numbers & I'm not doing 'life' incorrectly. There are simply too many people on this planet for the available resources. ...end of story.nfkGuess its clear Dazedfox2013-08-06 02:08:14I must end it.rddi do. MurphysPrincess2013-08-06 02:06:594 actually. Yep, I hope I passed in some genus(gnu?geniuses?Genesis?) And maybe with my crazy, they will have thicker, more well adjusted skin:) The present state of affairs in the world isn't going to "calm" much. Just like gasoline prices, once it's realized the price will be paid, it's easier to go back up and beyond.houlooking and I see you angel 162022013-08-06 02:05:26I am jay and trying to see a cheating wife...rddNeh. I like thinking like that. § prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 02:04:16rddnot an excuse, halfbreed2013-08-06 02:01:56I hope you don't have kids...their world is going to be waaaay fucked up.rddI refuse to accept that. prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 02:01:22I have faith in my species. Things are going to change for the better. Even if it means getting to that crisis level first.rddnot as much as i could. MurphysPrincess2013-08-06 01:57:14I do my best. I'm a scatterbrain, so I try and do things when I think of them.rddMaybe you're doing it wrong 2013-08-06 01:56:40I tend to compare today with 30 years ago, since it's when I first became a fully independent adult. Then, min. wage was $1, and so was a gallon of gas. Today, min was is closer to $7, gas is $4, and that gallon of gas will get you 35 miles in an entry-level car instead of 18 miles. In 1982, a pound of garbage-grade hamburger cost one hour's labor at min. wage. Today, one hour's labor at min. wage buys you two pounds of cheap hamburger meat. 30 years ago, a 23" color TV cost $1200. Today, a 32" color TV with much better picture and sound, and more durability, is $400. 30 years ago, $5000 bought you a new car that would last 80,000 miles before needing an engine or transmission rebuild. Today, the same $5000 buys you a used car that will go 150,000 miles before needing the same. In 1982, you could rent an apartment for $500 that was 600 square feet. We'd all get roommates then, since two poeple in 300 SF was OK. Today, $1000 rents a 1200 square foot apartment. If we could be as content per person as 30 years ago, the cost is the same, but min. wage has risen. I don't live in the woods, but next to them, and I found it lots cheaper. $5 a month covers the electricity for the well pump, saving me sewer and water. Wood heat means I pay nothing to feed the furnace. No CC&Rs means I can grow vegs in the front yard, reducing the grocery bill. If you are paying MORE for things because you moved away from cities, taxing authorities and regulations, then I think you aren't doing it right yet.rddthere are no groups where I live... halfbreed2013-08-06 01:56:38the town is small. We do well. Big recycling program and community clean-up days. I'm less worried about us than the "WORLD" as a whole. Even my community has gotten more populated and polluted in the 12 years that I've been here. Sucks. UNLIMITED PROCREATION...humans need to figure this out. It's gonna be our nemesis. Its cool now. prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:55:55I thought about a swim but its a monsoon tonight. Not sure if there is lightning but some guy just got struck and killed a week or so ago so I'm not risking it. I can't do cold showers unless there is no AC.you can only be naked. MurphysPrincess2013-08-06 01:51:45If you're still hot, it's about necessity, innovation, efficiency, and conservation. I hate when I'm that hot. Cold shower or night swim?;) 2013-08-06 01:46:11Thanks. I'm really happy for you and your kid, too! rddyes we are, halfbreed2013-08-06 01:45:51get used to it. Unless population growth is severely limited, we are all doomed. Three generations at most. I will be dead by then.Waking up feeling well! GreenOrGrey2013-08-06 01:44:09I went to bed last night feeling sick...;( :) There are good men. prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:41:18Thank you. I often feel hated.rddI live in the woods... halfbreed2013-08-06 01:41:03I'm off the merry-go-round, have been since I left the city 12 years ago. The basics are neither more available nor more affordable than they were in the City (SF). "Units of human effort" are multiplied tenfold living out here. Yet, at least I understand that what I'm taking from the earth can replenish itself...maybe...overpopulation, unlimited growth...stupid people who don't understand. People like YOU!You being here again tonight 2013-08-06 01:39:56see I not a bad guykzoI dont get it either... § prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:39:26rddYou do? GreenOrGrey2013-08-06 01:38:27I'm sorry to hear that. What was your favorite thing about today? prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:37:46Mine was when I accidently spilled my kids drink and was told, "It's okay, it was just an accident. I'll help you clean it." The genuine nature of how it was said and the hug I received was AMAZING. I get that love everyday. I never want to share it.lolrddi am positive i haven't fucked it up beyond MurphysPrincess2013-08-06 01:33:43Repair:) I just am basically standing still, waiting for inspiration and direction. When you stand on the beach and the tide is ebbing and flowing, your feet sink a little each cycle. This is where I am immobile.phxHmm... prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:31:44I don't do that shit. Sorry. Oh, bait fail. rddpeople are stupid, halfbreed2013-08-06 01:30:28most of us; the rest are either struggling or fighting a futile battle. Bottom line, overpopulation. The earth can no longer handle our destruction and consumption. It's now. I'm very sad. That is why I never had children. Not many people 'get it'. ...and I'm certainly not asking for agreement. I'm just telling the truth.Well thank you GreenOrGrey2013-08-06 01:28:46You and I have only spoken a couple times before. I'm also Native American - Shasta. You, I believe, are somewhere bordering the Siskiyou National Forest, right? I'm a woman. It's often not a political issue because 2013-08-06 01:25:29it is considered to be so irrelevant as to be ignored. Or worse. When I was in China and doing business negotiations, the subject came up. The very obvious assumption is that somehow, some kind of world government was going to force the US and Europe to pay to clean up the entire rest of the world on account of having been the ones who taught the Chinese and the Indians that heating buildings was a good idea...even when the fuel is coal.rddWe arent beyind repair. prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:24:44There just needs to be some unity and desisions need to be made. They always talk about thinking about the future generations. I think it's finally starting to click.phxI'm sorry. How? § prosthetic_heart2013-08-06 01:22:39phxi lost my friend today § 2013-08-06 01:21:54
